I knit my first socks this weekend! For real human feet, not futons. :) It's way too hot to wear them now, but I wanted a quick project, and this one delivered.
Speaking of quick projects, I discovered recently that cooking gives much faster satisfaction than knitting. Homemade pizza, quiche, curries ... and now, mulberry tart! inspired by a rhubarb tart that Steve made when we were in DC. The best part is, the mulberries are fresh, organic, and locally grown--on a tree in our neighborhood! We went berry-picking this afternoon. Just delightful. We must've picked two pounds of berries.

Been way too hot here in the Chicago area for socks. Congratulations on the project though. I haven't done socks yet.
like the socks are like so totally cute.
are they for you or one of your baby cousins?
glad you discovered the joys of cooking. great looking mulberry tart (hope you left some mulberries for the neighborhood silkworms though). hard to believe that its just growing wild on the streets. before you know it, you'll be picking lettuces, tomatoes and cantaloupes.

patrick estimates that it was more than 2 lbs of berries, and they probably would've cost $40 if we'd had to buy them at a supermarket.
